I'm back in WI

So here we are at the end of my 10 weeks. I'm still kind of digesting the whole experience right now, so I will just post some pictures for now to show you where I left it. Basically, the interior and exterior of the house are complete. The interior does need touch-up paint, which will probably be done by a couple good painters in the coming week.

Here's a trellis planter I built for the family who gave me a place to stay during my internship. Built entirely from scrap lumber and a thing we found laying around.

John putting down flooring in Annie Lee's side of the house

A little more done on the peninsula in the kitchen

I made the countertop out of the same flooring which went down in the kitchen

This door had given us trouble the entire 10 weeks... finally, 2 days before I left, we decided to fix it.

Kitchen and family room flooring going down

This stuff was so nice to put down!

Trimmed out the pantry with shelves and built a door for it

Plumbing access panel

Baseboard... somehow I learned to cope.

Peninsula completed, except for a final painting

Kitchen ready for the rest of the appliances

Thanks for following the project. I will post more pictures as the house gets finished up when they come to me.

One week left...

Well, I still haven't taken a video of the completed house, but here are some more pictures of the progress with one week left to go. These pictures are from midday Thursday, so its actually a little further along than this. I hope to be home this coming Sunday. Peace

July 17th Update

Wellity wellity wellity. Here we are at the beginning of week 9, and we are finally getting some dry days (sorry, WI folks, but we have more rain than we can handle down here these past 2 weeks). Mom and Dad came on Saturday and we spent Sunday in Vicksburg touring the Civil War battlefield and eating at a casino buffet. It was a good time and we learned a lot of neat info about the battle. I will give you some more pictures of the inside of the house and maybe a video tour by the end of this week. It's coming along quickly and I'm really enjoying working with Mom and Dad! Here are some pictures of stuff.
